Therefore gbgb = 6bb6bb
or, gbgb = 6:1

The long way around is to solve for b first and then g. 6b = g and then plug this into the second equation. However, you should recognize at this stage that 6b=g has already given you the answer you need. GRE will put other elements into the question (like another equation) to keep you focused on solving and use up your time when it's not necessary. Pay attention to each step as you go. If you did plug 6b=g into 4g-3b=63 then you would have found b=3, g=18 and the fraction could be 18/3 = 6/1
