Let x be the number
3 less than twice a certain number is equal to 2 more than 3 times the number
We can write: 2x - 3 = 3x + 2
Add 3 to both sides: 2x = 3x + 5
Subtract 3x from both sides: -1x = 5
Solve: x = -5
5 less than 5 times the number is
We want to find the value of 5x - 5
Since x = -5, we get: 5x - 5 = 5(-5) - 5 = (-25) - 5 = -30
Answer: A

5*num - 5 = ?
Lets solve the known part:
- 3 - 2 = 3*num - 2*num
- 5 = num

Now, we need to find whats been asked from us by putting the value of the number:
5*num - 5 = 5*(-5) - 5 = -25 - 5 = -30
