2+4+6+8+10+...+100 = x (eqn 1) 50 distinct numbers
1+3+5+7+9+....+99 =2500 (eqn 2) 50 distinct numbers
Eqn 1 - eqn 2
1(50 times) = x - 2500
x = 50 + 2500
= 2550
