Hi
this is a tricky question because the road map to overcome stagnation is obvious but most of the students seem they getting lost when they must evaluate what went or is going wrong. Usually, when someone is stuck or his/her score goes down we can summarize them as follow
1- you MUST pinpoint your weaknesses, both quant and verbal. A deep analysis of what we DO NOT know, what I might know BETTER, and what I am confident to know 110%.
Example: I do not know certain words or I forget them and over and over again I face during my preparation or practice: why I do not know or Do I not remember ?
Example: why always I am not sure that x^-1 = 1/x ???
2 - expand your vocabulary by reading NOT general stuff but specific reading that are close the GRE, I.E. they come from the same area such as University magazine or paper related to the academic world or science articles.
3 - Instead of practicing over and over again, we do have here on the board 14k quant question therefore you should not have any problem practicing until the next century, FOCUS on building up or reinforcing UNTIL you know or you are sure of them 110%. You must know that x^-1=1/x without any possible hesitation. Like a second skin. Like your name when someone asks you: what is your name Sir ? right away
4 - Use good mocks such as manhattan to build stamina, trying to replicate as close as possible the real test conditions: no distraction, no noise, no cellphone: just pen and paper timed. Force yourself to speed up the process, ending some minutes before the end of the test: the quant test is 20 questions in 30 minutes, try to finish in 28/27/26/25......................without being careless of course. AGGRESSIVE to the questions
5 - ERROR LOG is king . EVERYTHING must be recorded and analyzed. NO analysis, no log or poor log, no improvements
6 - Have a precise schedule and stick to it like a mad dog. no exception to the schedule, no pauses, nothing. The schedule is the schedule. I am dying........no problem. The schedule is my rule.
7 - Even when you solve a simple question ALWAYS the time must be turned on. Time is KING
Let me know if you need also resources for the points illustrated above or if you do have already them. The forum has countless of them
Good Luck
