Re: GRE Online prep courses [#permalink]
There are plenty of online resources and it depends on what are your strong and weak areas but I would be discussing the top 3 online GRE Resources based on the hundreds of students reviews.

Scholar Den, It has a good quant question set which is close to the real GRE. The subscription fee is low too. However, they have limited question bank just 500 questions with verbal lesson videos only. http://www.scholarden.com

Target Test Prep: They have good concept explanations related to the Quant section. If you are looking for just the quant section and your fundamental maths concepts are weak, then go for the target test prep. However, their questions are very difficult with respect to the real GRE questions. Also, they don't have any tutorials or practice questions related to the GRE verbal section.

Magoosh has a good verbal tutorial and some advanced skills for the quant section. They had been considered as an outstanding resource for the last few years, they are not very effective to students. They emphasize on learning vocab from any vocab list, but in the real GRE, its important to understand complex sentence structures first, improve your reading understanding and then vocabulary.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi guys, does anyone recommend me a GRE online prep course that is reliable and can help me to achieve a high score? I´ve been taking private classes and using some books but i´m looking for a course that provides me strategies to solve questions, videos and a good bak of questions for practice. I´m planning to take the exam on November. So, I have approximately 4 months to improve myself.

Id would be very helpful if you guys could give me more details about the courses and how they approach the GRE preparation.

Thanks and Greeting from Brazil! :D

It depends on what state you are in. Yesterday I was looking for such courses in Portland on the Internet. Soon began and I am trying to collect the necessary amount of money.

Re: GRE Online prep courses [#permalink]
Take this as a warning - I was incredibly burned by Princeton Review. I purchased Princeton Review's self-study program to try to boost my GRE quant scores from my first score of 156. After using their program for 2 months I started to hit my target Q scores (163+) on their practice tests and even scored a 166 Q on my final practice test. On my second GRE attempt after using Princeton Review for 2 months and completing 90%+ of their quant modules and 5 of their practice tests I scored a 158. 2 points higher. Honestly that difference could just come down to a variation in tests between the days.

I emailed Princeton Review asking for my money back because they have a score guarantee, but because I hadn't completed every single module and my score had improved those two points I didn't qualify for a refund. Honestly a huge waste of money. I would recommend a lower cost program like gregmat who will provide the same or higher quality materials for a WAY lower cost.
