They are creative however more often than not their process will be cut off for different reasons. So, their writing will be castrated ??? HOW?

Because the people in charge of the movie have the opportunity to cut off, doesn't it give them a chance to be creative? Because the writer says one can be creative by which reducing the script to 120?Why is option D wrong?
please help

Can you explain how to differentiate trap and correct answers ?

The difference is just simple: they are trap to confuse you.

When you feel an answer is the correct one always double check and NOT rush through the answer choices ;)

Veteran screenwriters, aiming at creating a 120-page screenplay for a film, usually turn in 135-page first draft. As one screenwriter put it, “That gives those in charge of the movie a chance to be creative when they get the script: at the very least, they can cut 15 pages.”

Inferences:
The screenwriters want to work with the directors and producers to produce the movie.
They welcome their thoughts and ideas but only restrict them to 15 pages.
They want them to be creative and also add their creativity in the project.

The screenwriter’s statement cited above conveys which of the following propositions?

A. Screenwriters for a film are generally not involved in any aspects of filmmaking besides providing the script.

It has not been explicitly mentioned in the argument that they are not involved. They are only talking about the team building skills in making the foundation of the movie.

B. Seasoned screenwriters are resigned to, and make allowance for, draft scripts being altered by those evaluating them.

Correct. As the last sentence says, they want the directors and producers to bring in their creativity and their perception about the film. The screenwriters are ready to inculcate their views and that is why they write 135 page manu-script instead of 120.

C. Truly creative screenwriters are too temperamental to adhere to page limits set for their work.

Nothing has been mentioned like this in the argument. They have to make 120 page but make 135. No direct comparison has been given between them and the most creative screenwriters.

D. It takes a special kind of creativity to recognise what is best left out of a film script.

This could have been the answer but they are not comparing the creativity between directors and screenwriters. They are welcoming them to put their thoughts into the script.

E. Even experienced screenwriters cannot be expected to write scripts of consistently high quality throughout.

The topic is not of being high quality but of acting and completing the project as a team.
