He tried with all himself to say that he was innocent and to exonerate himself from any collusion or fault, but she did npt beleive him

B and E are synonyms and, as such, the right answers.

PS: I fixed into the test. The choices were correct but in the explanation was indicated F as correct choice but was E.

I didn't realise that absolve can be used if being done on oneself, however eliminating the other options, b&e make the most sense.

mk2406, you are right. 'absolve oneself' is rare usage. I guess, 'redeem' would have been better here, but then, it would have probably made the sentence easier.
