William Shakespeare’s Macbeth was based upon a highly ____________ version of events that the playwright wrought from Raphael Holinshed’s Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland; King Duncan’s death at the hand of Macbeth comprises the play’s only historical truth.

The highlighted part indicates that the blank must be filled with two words that mean a version of the events enriched

C and F are the answers

Where is the clue sir these events are embellished or beautiful?

William Shakespeare’s Macbeth was based upon a highly ____________ version of events that the playwright wrought from Raphael Holinshed’s Chronicles of England

From this and the end of the sentence, we do know that the version was enriched. We infer this. The others options are completely out of scope. I hardly figure out the scenario in which the other words fit the bill.

Not ALWAYS we have clues. We have to grasp the sense of the sentence
