Great post Roy!
Try this new book on the market "It's all about the decisions we make" that uses proven science of context-based learning to effectively improve vocabulary and ace the GRE verbal. The book, available on Amazon, also has a list of 1200 most frequent GRE words in the Appendix.

Hey!

There are a number of mobile apps for learning new words specifically to improve your vocab score. Here is a list of few:
1) GREedge WordBot - GREedge
2) GRE Flashcards - Magoosh
3) GRE Daily Vocabulary - The Economist
4) GRE Vocabulary - Curious Freaks
5) Simplified GRE Vocabulary - Jamboree Education

These are just some of the many apps.

P.S. I personally find GREedge WordBot the best app for the same. I found it to be pretty simple but effective. It has great visuals which also benefit to a great extent. I would definitely suggest you to try it out.

I am not following any particular book for vocab. I am just trying questions in the books or participate in this forum, I make my own list of difficult words, with or without sentences and I DAILY revise previous words & learn new 5-10 words. And yes sometimes I revise twice a day too. So far its working for me. But revision takes a of time yeah but I guess worth it

I found Vince Kotchian's Wordlist with Visual Cartoon quite helpful and so does Greg's Videos and Movie Clip.
