Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study.

My answer-


Study should be related to one field so that the students can concentrate better on a particular field. Students should not take course outside the student’s field of study because that will waste time and will not support in long term goal.

Firstly, taking course outside the field of study, will make you divert in different path. Students should have a singular goal, and all subjects should be such that it contributes in that singular goal. Having good knowledge in one field is better than getting parts of knowledge in various field. For example, If Messi would have learned ten different sports partially, he would not have been a celebrated and talented player. Because he would invest different amount of time in different sports. But as he learn all stuffs related to football ,and he focused only on singular goal he was able to be achieve a good amount of talent ,and he is known as a expert in his field. All successful people have worked towards a goal without getting deviated.

Secondly, Students are very unstable and has a nurturing mind, if taught about lot of different fields together they make get unstable and start getting interest in different fields and that will lead to college dropout and wastage of money for parents and family. For example my elder brother was a mechanical engineer, but as he took coding subjects as sophomore .He was off the track for what course he opted for, he got so obsessed for coding language that he dropped college as he was not interested in mechanical any more. This event lead to wastage of money and getting him unstable about his studies. This change may keep him happy but he failed as a engineer and a graduate. And clearly taking variety of courses outside the student's field of study failed him.

Universities should not require to take a variety of courses outside the student's field of study because this may lead students to get deviated .Finally, we can conclude that it’s better to Go on a singular track with no deviation, so that the train of life and carrier can run faster and it can reach the desired station.
