3 blankers should be read slowly to get the whole meaning. Let's do this one:
By the standards of our own autobiographical age, with its appetite for revelation, its faith in the "redemptive" payoff of telling all,
Here, it says that Autobiographies are stories that contain revelation and redemptive pay offs, By standard. So it's basically telling all the things done like as a confession.
Fitzgerald‘s three personal essays seem decorously (i) ___, cloaked in metaphor rather than (ii) ____.
The clue is in the second part, cloaked in - means disguised in... metaphor. So the three essays are not revelation type...like standard (first sentence)
They are not transparent (vague) , disguised in metaphor rather than something revealing (disclosure)
The master storyteller isn‘t even very narrative, employing (iii) ___ language rather than episodes and scenes.
He does not narrate much as he employs metaphorical,non literal(figurative) language rather than episodes and scenes.

1. While reading the paragraph - "isn‘t even very narrative" suggests that the essays are not seen welcoming by the author. The first blank require a negative tone - hence articulate is out. "Metaphorical" followed by a noun phrase "cloaked in metaphor" also does not suit well. Hence, only vague fits here well.
2. "cloaked in metaphor" rather than... requires something opposite to metaphor. Simile is more a cousin to metaphor. Ambivalence is not the opposite and hence only discloser fits well.
3. What is done to being not narrative? - it cannot be forthright or presumptuous. Only "figurative" fits well and also is supported by "cloaked in metaphor" mentioned in the previous sentence.
