If Manuel sought more training, then it’s logical that he believed that he lacked perspicacity(acuteness of perception). None of the other choices fits the context clue of seeking high-level training in economic theory: choice A, vacuity, means emptiness or meaninglessness; choice B, jocosity, means humorousness; choice C, frugality, means economy or thriftiness; and choice D, equanimity, means poise or composure.
