In contrast to instances where size is commensurate with the potency of flavor, smaller peppers tend to be far more (i) _________ than larger peppers.

A. banal

B. piquant

C. acrid

D. unique

E. diverse

I think the answer should be B. piquant. The question stem talks about the flavor and piquant means sharp taste while banal does not give coherent meaning to the sentence.

No sorry.

The answer is and was B. I selected the wrong answer :)

Thank you so much.

Yes, it is B indeed. The smaller is spicier than the bigger ones
