Re: Television promotes (i) _________ of emotion in viewers through [#permalink]

Television promotes (i) _________ of emotion in viewers through an unnatural evocation, every five minutes, of different and (ii) __________ feelings.

We know that it evokes an emotion unnaturally every five minutes. This will only lead to a discontinuity of emotion, not an obscuring or a withdrawal, for there is no information in the sentence to suggest the latter two. And since the feelings are different, that further confirms our choice of discontinuity. For the second blank, we need a synonym of different and also a word which will complete the full meaning of the sentence. The discontinuity can be promoted only if the feelings are incompatible, not if they are sympathetic or interminable.
