I dont get it why jibe is used it means officially to insult in slang we use it as similar or compatible but gre doesn't use slang?

However, I guess it is used also in slang which is an insulting remarks.

But according to merriam https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/jibe it is also not slang and in this case means agree with
