While reading the text for the first time I choose the correct answer options but, I was not sure about the second blank and the historical fact that popped up in the second sentence made me think that it this context has a theme about the historical facts and ended up choosing wrong options.

Can someone please explain why is it refute for the third blank ? What is the connection between the people who are taking historical facts into consideration and the admirers in the first sentence ? Are both the same group of people or different ? What clue is given to for the set of people in 3rd blank ?
