Disagree, again. D is the correct answer. Ever since Sputnik the emphasis in schools has often been the so-called "hard core" subjects: Math, English, Sciences, some technologies. Very much "dominant." Very much college-oriented. The Arts and Humanties were highly valued as well, but were seen as vital only to those students who were clearly headed for those careers and Trade Schools for those who needed some basic mastery in Science, math, English, and Technology, but less theoretical and more hands-on.
