-4 is a solution means that x=-4
so x+4 is ONE solution.
The other must be the product of 4 and 2=8
therefore the other solution is x+2
the sum of the two solutions is 4+2=6
Hence k=6
so x+4 is ONE solution.

\(16 - 4k + 8 = 0\)
\(24 - 4k = 0\)
