Noting that x^5 = x^1+4 = x^1. x^4, you can factor out x^4 from both terms, resulting in x^4(2x − 30) = 0. You can then divide through by x^4, because you are looking for a non-zero solution. This yields 2x − 30 = 0 or x = 15.
