We are given that the average of 𝑎 and 𝑏 is 𝑚/2 , average of 𝑏 and 𝑐 is 𝑚 and the average of 𝑎 and 𝑐 is 3𝑚/2
We need to find that the average of 𝑎, 𝑏 and 𝑐 is how many times of 𝑚.
Since, the average of 𝑎 and 𝑏 is 𝑚/2
𝑎+𝑏/2= 𝑚/2
𝑎 + 𝑏 =𝑚/2× 2
𝑎 + 𝑏 = 𝑚 (eqn.1)
Average of 𝑏 and 𝑐 is 𝑚
So similarly, 𝑏 + 𝑐 = 2𝑚 (eqn.2)
Average of 𝑎 and 𝑐 is 3𝑚/2
So, 𝑎 + 𝑐 =3𝑚/2× 2
𝑎 + 𝑐 = 3𝑚 (eqn.3)
Adding (eqn.1), (eqn.2) and (eqn.3) we get,
(𝑎 + 𝑏) + (𝑏 + 𝑐) + (𝑎 + 𝑐) = 𝑚 + 2𝑚 + 3𝑚
2𝑎 + 2𝑏 + 2𝑐 = 6𝑚
𝑎 + 𝑏 + 𝑐 = 3𝑚
Average of 𝑎, 𝑏 and 𝑐 =a+b+c/3=3m/3=m or 1
