good Q indeed, similar to relative speed distance,
let us first find out the rate of bob and jane in pages per minutes,
as work =Rate*time,
30 Pages=Rbob*60mins,
Rate of bob=1/2 pages/min
Rate of Jabe=2/3 pages/min,
now bob has started reading from 4:30 PM and Jane will start from 5:20 PM so Bob has already ahead with 50 mins of reading so in those 50 mins bob has already read W=R*T, W=1/2*50= 25 Pages,
so to cover those 25 pages and since bob is keep on reading let us find out the relative rate of both bob and jane which 2/3-1/2=1/6 {page/min},
so overall time in reading those 25 pages will be
W=R*T,
25=1/6*T so T=150 mins
