Explanation
\(\frac{3(6 - x)}{(2x)}\)
Multiply both sides by 2x, distribute the left side, combine like terms, and solve:
3(6 – x) = –6(2x)
18 – 3x = –12x
18 = –9x
–2 = x

If \(x \neq 0\) and \(\frac{3(6-x)}{2x}= -6\), what is the value of x?
\(\frac{3(6-x)}{2x} = -6\)
\(\frac{18-3x}{2x} = -6\)
\(18-3x = -6(2x)\)
\(18-3x = -12x\)
\(18 = -9x\)
\(x = \frac{18}{-9}\)
\(x = -2\)
\(\frac{3(6-x)}{2x} = -6\)
\(\frac{18-3x}{2x} = -6\)
\(18-3x = -6(2x)\)
\(18-3x = -12x\)
\(18 = -9x\)
\(x = \frac{18}{-9}\)
\(x = -2\)
