Triangle on the left
Since angles in a triangle add to 180°, we can see that the missing angle (x) in the triangle is 60°, which makes it an equilateral triangle
In an equilateral triangle, all sides have the same length
So the perimeter of the triangle = 9 + 9 + 9 = 27
Triangle on the right
As for the right triangle, we COULD apply the Pythagorean theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse (side EF)
Alternatively, we might also recognize that 5 and 12 are part of the Pythagorean triplet 5-12-13, so side EF must have length 13
So the perimeter of this triangle = 5 + 12 + 13 = 30
We get:
Quantity A: 27
Quantity B: 30
Answer: B
