20% of $440 = $88
$440 - $88 = $352
So the reduced price is $352
The reduced price was then increased by z% to return it to $440.
No need to actually calculate the value of z.
Instead, let's see if what happens if we increase $352 by 20%
20% of $352 = $70.40
$352 + $70.40 = $422.40
As we can see, increasing $352 by 20% does NOT get us back to the original price of $440
So, to get us back to the original price of $440, we must increase $352 by MORE THAN 20%
In other words, z is GREATER THAN 20
Answer: A
