Let's test some values.
case i: It COULD be the case that a = 0 and b = 1
We get:
Quantity A: \((a+b)^2 = (0+1)^2 = 1\)
Quantity B: \((a+b)^3= (0+1)^3 = 1\)
In this case, Quantity A equals Quantity B
case ii: It COULD be the case that a = 0 and b = 2
We get:
Quantity A: \((a+b)^2 = (0+2)^2 = 4\)
Quantity B: \((a+b)^3= (0+2)^3 = 8\)
In this case, Quantity B is greater
Answer: D
