x = + or - 3 and y = + or - √5.
|2x+y|^2 = (2x+y)^2 or (-2x - y)^2.
One case can be:
(2*3 + √5)^2 = 36 + 5 + 12√5 = 41 + 12 * 2.2 = 41 + 26.4 = 67.4. Quantity A is greater.
Another case:
((-2 *-3) - √5)^2 = (6-√5)^2 = 36 + 5 - 2*6*√5 = 41 - 26.4 = 14.6. Quantity B is greater.
Therefore correct option is D.
