Speed = distance/time
We get:
QUANTITY A: \(\frac{d}{h}\)
QUANTITY B: \(\frac{9d}{8h}\)
Since h must be POSITIVE, we can safely multiply both quantities by h to get:
QUANTITY A: \(d\)
QUANTITY B: \(\frac{9d}{8}\)
Since d must be POSITIVE, we can safely divide both quantities by d to get:
QUANTITY A: \(1\)
QUANTITY B: \(\frac{9}{8}\)
Since 9/8 > 1, the correct answer is B
