Apply cross-product multiplication to \(\frac{x}{y} = \frac{3}{4}\) to get
\(4x = 3y\)
\(y = \frac{4}{3}x\)
Substitute for y in both quantities.
Quantity A
\(\frac{2x-y}{y} = \frac{2x-\frac{4}{3}x}{\frac{4}{3}x} = \frac{\frac{2}{3}x}{\frac{4}{3}x} = \frac{2}{3} * \frac{3}{4} = \frac{1}{2}\)
Quantity B
\(\frac{x}{x+y} = \frac{x}{\frac{7}{3}x} = \frac{3}{7}\)
Since \(\frac{1}{2} > \frac{3}{7}\), Quantity A is greater.
\(4x = 3y\)
\(y = \frac{4}{3}x\)
