There are number of combinations of pen and notebooks which could have been purchased in order to spend $25
#1:
11 pens + 1 notebook
= ( 11 * 2 ) + ( 1 * 3 )
= 22 + 3
= 25
#2:
2 pens + 7 notebooks
= ( 2 * 2 ) + ( 7 * 3 )
= 4 + 21
= 25
Ans : Choice D
#1:
