General direction: 3C3+3C2+3C1 AND 1 empty set result in (1+3+3)= 8 total arrangements
Solution: we need to find the total number of arrangements for subsets of set {a, b, c, d} and subtract from this all arrangements excluding 'a' OR all subsets of the set {b, c, d}.
4C4+4C3+4C2+4C1 AND 1 empty set less 3C3+3C2+3C1 AND 1 empty set = 1+4+6+4+1 - (1+3+3+1) = 8
Quantity A: 8
Quantity B:10
Quantity A > Quantity B
answer is B
