Here you nned the speed of the first stretch and see if is >,<, or = to 60

The questions is not asking you about the rest of the trip

So it's just asking the speed for the first 2/5 of the trip? Would you consider this a poorly worded question or more of a trick?

poorly worded question, i have seen a lot of them here and instead of accepting it people just defend that it's not what is asked. Understanding a vague statement is subjective not objective and it's not what is asked in GRE.

The thing to assess if a question is suitable for the GRE is more complicated than you think sir.

First and foremost, if I remember well this is a question from the book 501 series.

Now, this same book to practice is used, IF I am not wrong, is some GRE course at US universities. Those courses used to teach the undergraduate students.

Moreover, I saw a similar DS GMAT question somewhere which was similar. Therfore, should we think that official question is also bogus ? from GMAT ?

Difficult to asses this.

Whern you think that a question could be no good, just simply skip it. However, delve into the fact that could or not be a good question is a complicated matter sir.

Thanks , though

Okay so what does it mean? If everyone's turning a blind eye to a mistake should i do it too?
Just look at the question it says john completes 2/5 of his journey in 2.5 hrs explicitly.

In the comparison they've asked (john's average speed) vs (60).

now you're speculating about the avg speed because they didn't explicitly tell us about what avg speed is it going to be for the whole journey or only the 2/5th part.
1. If it's for the 2/5 part yes your speculation is right
2. But if they're talking about the whole journey then we don't know the speed at which he travelled the other 3/5th part of his journey, it could have been 200 miles per hour then avg speed would've been way more than 60, but for the second part of his journey if his speed was 1 then the avg would've been way less than 60.

It is your assumption about the question.

I never said to turn on the other side.

Nor is implied from my previous message. We are a free forum. There is nothing wrong in what you said.

However, I just said it is difficult to evaluate a question, especially when it is not an official question.

Good luck
