Given: \(2y^5<y^4\)
Note: This tells us that y ≠ 0 (otherwise it would be the case that \(2y^5=y^4\) .
If y ≠ 0, then we know that \(y^4\) is POSITIVE, which means we can safely divide both sides of the inequality by \(y^4\) to get: \(2y<1\)
Now divide both sides of the inequality by \(2\) to get: \(y<\frac{1}{2}\)
If \(y<\frac{1}{2}\), then we can be certain that y is less than 1
Answer: A
