The answer is (B).
The area of any polygon is maximum when its sides are equal.
Hence, we will try making it an equilateral lateral with a side of 8.
--> Area = (1/2) * base * height
= (1/2) * 8 * 4 root 3 (using the properties of a 30:60:90 triangle)
= 16 * root 3 = 16 * 1.732
This number is smaller than quantity B (32 = 16 * 2).
