Useful (and often-tested) property: \(\frac{a + b}{c}=\frac{a}{c}+\frac{b}{c}\)
Given:
QUANTITY A: \(n+2 \)
QUANTITY B: \(\frac{2n+1}{n }\)
Apply the above property to quantity B to get:
QUANTITY A: \(n+2 \)
QUANTITY B: \(2+\frac{1}{n }\)
Subtract \(2\) from both quantities:
QUANTITY A: \(n\)
QUANTITY B: \(\frac{1}{n }\)
At this point we can see that, when \(n = 1\), the two quantities are equal, and when \(n = 2\), the two quantities are NOT equal
