a) 10h + 9p = 74.15
b) 9h + 10p = 74.05
Multiply equation a by 9 and equation b by 10
We will get
a) 90h + 81p = 667.35
b) 90h + 100p = 740.5
Subtract a from b => b-a
We get 19p = 73.15
Therefore p = 3.85
Substitute value of p in the equation a or b, we will get h = 3.95
Hence, Answer is A.

10h + 9p = 74.15 ==> h = (74.15-9p)/10 = 7.415-0.9p
Substitute h in 9h + 10p = 74.05 ==> 9(7.415-0.9p) + 10p = 74.05.
66.735 - 8.1p + 10p = 74.05.
1.9p = 7.315 ==> p = 7.315/1.9 = 3.85.
Substitute p value in 9h + 10p = 74.05.
9h + 10(3.85) = 74.05 ==> 9h = 74.05 - 38.5 ==> 9h = 35.55 ==> h = 3.95.
Cost of one pretzel, which is $3.85 is less than cost of one hot dog which is $3.95, so Qty A is the correct answer.
