We can solve this question using matching operations
Given:
Quantity A: y - x
Quantity B: x - y
Add x to both sides to get:
Quantity A: y
Quantity B: 2x - y
Add y to both sides to get:
Quantity A: 2y
Quantity B: 2x
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
Quantity A: y
Quantity B: x
Since we're told that x < y, the correct answer is A
