Quantity A
7w - 4Quantity B
2w + 5Let's use the Matching Operations strategy.
Given:
Quantity A: 7w - 4
Quantity B: 2w + 5
Subtract 2w from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 5w - 4
Quantity B: 5
Add 4 to both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 5w
Quantity B: 9
Divide both quantities by 5 to get:
Quantity A: w
Quantity B: 9/5 (= 1.8)
We're told that w > 1
So, if w = 1.1, then quantity B IS GREATER.
Conversely, if w = 2, then quantity A IS GREATER.
