Hmmm, we have an x² terms and a 2x term. This looks very familiar to the expansion of either (x + 1)² or (x - 1)²
Let's explore this further.
Subtract 2x from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: x² - 2x + 1
Quantity B: -1
Factor to get:
Quantity A: (x - 1)²
Quantity B: -1
Since Quantity A is the SQUARE of some value, we know that Quantity A must be greater than or equal to 0
So, Quantity A must be greater than -1 (Quantity B)
