Frankly I did not get the question. For me is badly worded. My opinion.

if K is odd then 2*odd must be even. But the question implies that the number should result odd.

Why not ans is 54 too, 36a = 54 = 2k ---> k = 27, which is odd.

Both B and E are correct options imo
