In a group of hundred businessmen, the ages of the youngest and the o [#permalink]

In a group of 100 businessmen we know that the age of the youngest & the oldest are 30 years & 60 years respectively. We need to check from the options that which of them is sufficient to find the median age of the businessmen.

Note: - The median in case of 100 numbers is the average of 50th & 5st term, so we need to check from the options that which of them is sufficient to find the 50th & 51st persons age average.

(A) the average age of all the businessmen in the group is 45 — it won't be sufficient as the average age of all 100 businessmen can give the sum of the ages of all 100 persons but not the average age of 50th & 51st' person.
(B) the individual ages of all the businessmen in the group — It is sufficient as if the individual ages are known the median i.e. the average of the 50th & 51st age can be found.
(C) the number of young and old businessmen in the group — It won't be sufficient as it gives the number of young and the old men but not the ages of the 50th & the 51st person.

Only B is sufficient
