From the number line, the answer is -3<x<1
(A) x<1 -- eliminate
(B) –6<2x<2 -- simplify by dividing 2
-3<x<1 -- match with correct answer
(C) –9<3x<6 -- simplify by dividing 3
-3<x<2 -- eliminate
(D) 1<2x<3 -- simplify by dividing 2
1/2< x< 3/2 -- eliminate
(E) x>–3 - eliminate
