Since this involves 2 overlapping sets, the equation can be interpreted as:
(# of employees who take tea) + (# of employees who take coffee) - (# of employees who take both) + (# of employees who take neither) = 1000
(0.60 * 1000) + (0.62 * 1000) - (0.35 * 1000) + n = 1000
600 + 620 - 350 + n = 1000
n = 130
(# of employees who take tea) + (# of employees who take coffee) - (# of employees who take both) + (# of employees who take neither) = 1000
(0.60 * 1000) + (0.62 * 1000) - (0.35 * 1000) + n = 1000
600 + 620 - 350 + n = 1000
n = 130
