Theory: Mean = \(\frac{Sum Of All Value}{Total Number Of Values}\)
We need to find the mean age of the combined group, and we know that Mean = \(\frac{Sum of all the values}{Total number of values}\) We know total number of people = 30 + 70 = 100 Let's try to find the sum of all the ages now.
Group 1: A group of 30 employees of Cadre A has a mean age of 27 => Sum = Mean * 30 = 27*30 = 810
Group 2: A group of 70 employees of Cadre A has a mean age of 23 => Sum = Mean * 70 = 23*70 = 1610
Total Age of both the groups combined = 810 + 1610 = 2420 Mean = \(\frac{Total Age of both the groups combined }{ Total Number of people}\) = \(\frac{2420}{100}\) = 24.2
So, answer will be B Hope it helps!
