Re: The legs of a right triangle are in the ratio of 3 to 1. If [#permalink]
I assumed a 30-60-90 traingle. So √40 divided by 2 is √10 for the short leg. For the second leg, i multipled √10 by √3 to get √30, so i have √10, √30, √40. Closest is 3,5,6. Add to getter I get 14. Since I know their actual square root is greater than 3,5,6 I know the answer is between 14 and 15
