On January first, the price increased 20%
New price = $80 + (20% of $80)
= $80 + $16
= $96
After the price increase, an employee bought these sneakers with a 10% employee discount. What price did the employee pay?
Employee discount price = $96 - (10% of $96)
= $96 - $9.6
= $86.40
Answer: D
