woman(w) is 4 times her daughter(d) which means w = 4d
in three years, woman's age will be w+3 and that of daughter's will be d+3

in the question, it says in 3 years, woman's age will be thrice as her daughter's age.
w+3 = 3(d+3)-------------- (i)
w = 4d ---------------------(ii)

upon solving the equation, you'll daughter's age as 6 and woman's age as 24.

Hence (D) should be the correct answer
