Yeah right , because if a number is a multiple of any two number then those numbers must be its factors ..hence in this case least common multiple of 3 and 4 is 12 :) .. X has to be a multiple of 12.

OR

The only number that has 3 and 4 as factors among the answer choices is 12. The others do not.

OR

because the factors are 3 and 4 the number must be even. So, C and E are out. 8 is 2^3 and 18 is 3^2 * 2. In 8 is missing the 3 and in the latter is missing the 4.
