Average= (7*3+8*n+10*5+11*4) / (3+n+5+4) = (115+8n)/(12+n). We need this value to be greater than the median.
Let's check the answer choice. As they are in sequential order, it's always good to start from answer choice (c).
When n = 4, the median = 10, average = 9.1875. Eliminate this. We need to decrease the value of the median so, we have to add more and more "8" in the series. So we will increase the value of n and check answer choices (d) and (e).
When n = 5, the median = 10, average = 9.11
When n = 6, the median = 9, average = 9.05 (This is the right answer choice)
