Movie theater X charges $6 per ticket, and each movie showing costs the theatre $1,750. How many people need to see a movie so that the theater makes $1 of profit per customer?
(A) 300
(B) 325
(C) 350
(D) 375
(E) 400
Even though it's easy, I am so confused? Can we solve logically without profit formula?
Thank You.
let the number of people be x.
Profit = selling price - cost.
Note:we have to make all the components parallel. Either all components using must be for single guy or for group of people.
6x -1750 = 1
5x = 1750
x = 350.
The best answer is C.
