Since the question isn't asking us to find the individual values of x and y, we might be able to save some time by finding a short way to get 2x - 2y (without actually solving the system of equations for x and y)
Given:
5x - 3y = 7
2y - 4x = 3
Rearrange the terms in the bottom equation to get:
5x - 3y = 7
-4x + 2y = 3
ADD the two equations to get: x - y = 10
Finally, we can multiply both sides of the equation by 2 to get: 2x - 2y = 20
Answer: E
